Gazette.net, The Journey School is a newly formed middle school beginning in August 2015, serving grades 6 - 8. This unique middle school program is based on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori and features work with the land and community. Students will participate in service learning and internships with local businesses and farms as well as be responsible for care and maintenance of the school’s physical environment and equipment. Students will be confident, engaged, and academically prepared for high school and beyond. Following the Montessori methodology, lessons will be fully integrated, hands-on, and project based. Montessori experience not required. Located on the beautiful 12 acre campus of Mater Amoris Montessori in Ashton, MD, close to Montgomery, Howard, Ann Arundel and Prince George's Counties.
